Kvêta Packovskà

Kvêta Packovskà was born in 1928 in Prague, Czech Republic. She graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague in 1952 (prof. Emil Filla). Her field is free graphic art, painting, conceptual art and books. Between 1961 and 2009 she has had over 80 solo exhibitions of her work. Since the 60's she has been developing the picture book as a tactile and three-dimensional art object. Her large paintings and paper sculptures have been exhibited at museums and galleries in many different parts of the world. Her books has been translated into German, English, Japanesse, French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Danish, Finnish, Dutch, Chinese, etc. In 1992-1993 she was guest professor at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin; in 1995-1997 she realized her garden project in Chihiro Art Museum Azumino in Nagano, Japan. In 1999 she was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Design Degree at Kingston University, Great Britain. 2003 she made concept and graphic design for the international Book Exposition in Taipei and design of her own exhibition in Paris-Créteil at 2004 she made architectural design, for presentation of her last book ("Un Livre pour Toi"), realization in France 2005-2006. At 2007 she published her new book "Á l'Infini" at edition du Panama, Paris. It will be introduced on November 2007 in space Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.
